Community Development Councils in Sholgara District of Balkh province celebrated the inauguration of 19 projects which is supported by Swedish Committee for Afghanistan.
The projects included Pipe Scheme network projects, Semi Depth Wells Construction, Roads Concrete, Road Gravelling, Culverts Construction and Retaining Walls.
The projects were with 12 local CDCs and 12 villages under the Community Governance and Livelihood Project (CGLP) and Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) projects of Rural Development Program.
District Governor, Representative of PRRD, Head of MRMO, Representative of Economy Department, directors and members of CDCs, attended the inauguration ceremony which is conducted in Sholgara district.
Serajuddin Abid, district governor appreciated support of SCA and added: “This is a big step in the district that we inaugurate these projects. I want to thank you SCA for all what they did and will do. We always support them for better implementation of the projects.”
The total cost for the project was more than 23 million Afghani, including 10% contribution of the CDCs. A total of 3468 families (24276 individuals) benefited these projects in Sholgara district.
