The Swedish Committee for Afghanistan (SCA) has been working in Afghanistan since 1982, presently managing development programmes concerning Health, Education, Rural Livelihoods and Community Governance, with a total annual budget of roughly USD 40 million. The total number of staff is around 5,500. During the last 10 years SCA has undertaken a change process moving from a primarily humanitarian service delivery approach towards more of a developmental role, putting increasing emphasis on capacity development, rights-based programming and outcome orientation. The mission of SCA is to empower individuals, communities and local organizations, primarily in rural areas and with particular focus on women, girls, boys and vulnerable groups such as people with disabilities, so that they may participate fully in society and influence their own development. Scope of work:
Under the guidance of the Men Engagement in Maternal and Child Health Care (MEMCH) project manager and officer, the MEMCH project Assistant is responsible to assist and the project manager and the team to ensure proper implementation of the project activities and at the providential and district level. She/he will assist other project field staff in the field so that the project’s plan is implemented in accordance with the project’s plan and objectives. She/he ensures proper and on time organizing of sessions/gathering/dialogues at the office as well as field level while ensure proper administration and financial affairs/documentations and filing. She/he will spend at least 30% time in the field.
Qualifications & Requirements:
University degree in Social Sciences, Sociology, and Development Studies.
Maximum up to two years of experience in the field of Social Engineering and Community Mobilization .
Computer skills especially with MS Office packages.
English language skill (written and spoken).
Interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability and willingness to travel to the project sites at regional level and adjust to SCA environment.
Honest, proactive, and well mannered.
Familiarity working with diverse cultures.
Assist project team in conduction of trainings, campaigns, and meetings.
Assist field supervisor and councillors in conduction of awareness sessions dialogues/ campaigns and other activities in the field.
Assist the data management assistant and counsellors in collecting and analysing the data when asked.
Support team in conduction of meetings with LGAs, Proactive male agent and Male gate keepers in community as well as office level. To write report is the said events and keep record of that. Assist the team in payment and proccing of the financial document.
Assisting team in sorting of training documents.
To assist and facilitate the district and provincial level advocacy basis coordination meeting or any other meetings held at the community level.
Assisting project team in Follow up of awareness sessions.
To promote gender equality and non-discrimination.
To support the team in collecting and developing successes stories about the project.
To take part in sorting out the applications, plans, survey, assessments, budget, and report at provincial level.
To maintain a proper filing system of the project at all level.
Perform other duties within competence as assigned by the project manager.
