COVID-19 Weekly Update: MRMO
Introduction: MRMO implements Education, Disability Inclusive, Rural Development, and Health programmes. The office covers the provinces of Balkh, Samangan and Jawzjan. The residents of more than 1100 villages are benefiting from SCA interventions.
– The CDMU, HRG team completed a survey for COVID-19 rapid gender analysis. A total of 72 people took part in this survey and have been done in three districts of Balkh Province.
– Education team conducted awareness-raising on COVID-19 and personal hygiene preventive measures for 11 Inclusive Education Resource Persons and 56 Community Based Education Students in Dara Suf Payeen and Dara Suf Bala districts.
– The Health unit conducted a 3 days T o T for 15 Learning for Healthy Life Project teachers. At the beginning of training, one-hour awareness about coronavirus was conducted and explained how to prevent the virus and usage of masks, hand sanitizer and recommended them to have social distance.
– The Disability unit has conducted awareness sessions for 668 families regarding the prevention of the coronavirus virus in the last two weeks in HBT, HBE, and physical rehabilitation centers. In addition to receiving rehabilitation services, they received awareness about hygiene, prevent unnecessary gatherings, maintaining social distance, and using masks and gloves.
– The Disability unit has conducted awareness sessions for 668 families regarding the prevention of the coronavirus virus in the last two weeks in HBT, HBE, and physical rehabilitation centers. In addition to receiving rehabilitation services, they received awareness about hygiene, prevent unnecessary gatherings, maintaining social distance, and using masks and gloves.
– The TIQRA II project staff conducted an awareness campaign regarding COVID-19. In this campaign Aria University, Mawlana University, Balkh Public Health Department, volunteer young doctors also participated.
– At the same time, the RDP staff conducted 216 saving group meetings in Balkh, and in every single meeting, short awareness sessions on COVID-19 have been conducted, and as well as printed hygienic massages are provided for target communities.
– The response team conducts three meetings per week to discuss the problems, preparation, and recommendation related to COVID-19.
