MEMBERS ROLES AND RESPONSIBILTIES
All members of NMA will not only take part in the agreed meetings but also bring men and boy’s engagement and mainstreaming perspectives into the meetings. All member organizations, groups and activists will lead in responding to advocacy efforts to develop National Men and Boy’s Engagement Policy and Guidelines. Following will be the key roles and responsibilities of members:
– Take up gender discrimination with boys and men engagement perspective
Facilitate boys and men engagement activities by identifying priority issues for advocacy, lobbying and policy dialogue
– Facilitate petitions and legal interventions with the help of its pool of members
– Organize and address peaceful demonstrations, rallies and public meetings to advocate for human rights based services
– Participating in rights focused campaigns for rights based policy interventions
– Issuing press statements and media releases on boys and men engagement
Circulating leaflets and other forms of literature on gender equality, men and boys as partner, care-givers and gender sensitive enabler
– Develop liaison with Bar Associations, Local Government Representatives, Ministry of Women Affairs, Media and international agencies for collaboration
MEMBERSHIP CRITERIA OF ‘THE ALLIANCE’
Any human rights, women rights and child rights organization (local, national/international) can become Alliance member. Following (but not limited to) will be the members of ‘The Alliance’
– Non-governmental organizations working on human rights, women rights, child rights and gender equality
– Government ministries and department leading human rights, child rights, women rights and gender
– Human rights, child rights, women rights and gender activists, as individuals?
– Legislators and parliamentarian representing gender, human rights and child rights in legislative process
– Professional experts (Psychologists, Social workers, teachers, doctors, nurses etc.)
– Local community members (representing any walk of life)
– People’s representatives (local, provincial and national level)
– Lawyers and Bar Associations (specially human rights right lawyers)
Representatives of local and national media channels, organizations working in the area.
Alliance members will act without any discrimination of gender, color, race or ethnicity. Women will strongly be encouraged to take active part in NMA composition and activities.
