SCA’s Country Director and Programme Director visits health programme activities in Chak and Sayed Abad districts of the Wardak province
Mr. Daniel Madhani, SCA’s Country Director for Afghanistan together with Dr. Ahmad Khalid Fahim, Programme Director/Deputy Country Director and Eng. Shafiullah Sharifi Head of SCA Wardak Regional Management Office visited SCA’s health programme activities in Chak and Sayed Abad districts of Wardak province.
In addition to the provision of primary and secondary healthcare services through the network of 77 health facilities including a provincial and two district hospitals and more than 350 health posts, SCA also implements a comprehensive Covid-19 response programme to reach more than 655,462 people in the Wardak province.
Besides visiting and meeting the staff of Dasht-i-Toop CHC+, Araban CHC, and Sebak BHC, an isolation center funded by SCA fundraising was inaugurated in Malak Mohammad Jan Khan District Hospital in Saidabad district of Wardak province. The isolation facility will provide COVID-19 response services to communities of remote and hard to reach areas of the province. Funded by SCA, establishing isolation centers will be expanded to other health facilities in remote and hard to reach areas.
Acknowledging their efforts, Mr. Madhani and Dr. Khalid thanked the staff of the mentioned health facilities for their hard work and commitment in such a tough situation and ensured that SCA’s senior management will provide full support to the health projects both routine health programmes and COVID-19 response operation.
The Country Director also assured further expansion of the COVID-19 response operation and strengthening routine health programme across the province. Mr. Daniel Madhani also appreciated the management and all staff of Wardak Regional Office for ensuring continued service delivery to the target groups especially women and children despite the Covid-19 emergency.
