SCA empowers the most vulnerable groups and local communities in northern Afghanistan

Swedish Committe for Afghanistan in Kabul SCA is committed to stand with the most vulnerable people in Afghanistan.

I want to become doctor; Shakiba Amiri who is 14 years old, the resident of Bamyan province, Yakawalan one district. She is the student of Gazak school. Shakiba Amiri studies in the sixth grade. “I want to become doctor in the future, so I would like to treat my sisters in my own country, and this is my expectation to acquire higher education in the field of medicine, this is not only my big dream, but also my family wishes to study medical faculty. She has also said that she has been the only one in her family who has been provided with the opportunity to study, and I will extend this culture further.” Says Shakiba. Gazak school is supported by SCA where 246 students are studying, 125 are girls and 121boys. In addition, 9 teachers are engaged in teaching, 1 is male and 8 are female teachers.

Swedish Committe for Afghanistan in Kabul Shakiba Amiri is one of the students of SCA's schools in Bamyan province. She wishes to become doctor in the future, to serve her community.

Project Introduction: BACEDA

Swedish Committe for Afghanistan in Kabul Building Active Citizenship and Equality for persons with Disabilities in Afghanistan (BACEDA) project is designed to address the transformation of Afghanistan's disability rights situation. The action supported by the European Commission will be implemented for 36 months starting from January 2020 in a consortium led by Swedish Committee for Afghanistan (SCA) in partnership with Save the Children International-SCI (Afghanistan) and Accessibility Organisation for Afghan Disables (AOAD). SCA will implement the action in Ghazni, Paktika, Wardak, Balkh, Samangan and Jawzjan; AOAD in Paktia and Khost, while SCI in Faryab and Saripul.
