16 women graduate from SCA’s midwifery school
These girls will serve the people of Nuristan province, and ease the health matters
16 women have graduated from SCA’s midwifery school for Nuristan. The midwives will serve in Kamdish, Paroon, Waigal, Doab,Wama, and Mondol districts. They have learned about Antenatal care, Postnatal care, Skilled birth Delivery, Minor Complications, Family Planning, and taking care of babies, and have achieved competency through practical work in different hospitals.
“I am very happy to have studied at the midwifery school, now, I am able to serve my community, and this is a big pride both for me and my family,” says Rahila, mother of three children.
The midwifery school has been implemented under the FHH (Family Health House) project and funded by UNFPA.
Clinic inaugurated
Meanwhile, a newly constructed Basic Health Centre was inaugurated. The clinic has been constructed in Nurgeram district of Nuristan province under the ABADEI project, which was financed by UNDP at the cost of 21 million AFN. 30,000 people, half of them women and girls, will benefit from the clinic.
