Muhammad Hussain

He lives in the village of Sar Asiab Sofla (where Seyamo also lives). On the side of the road where Hussain lives the landscape looks like a desert, even though it is not far from the river that flows through the valley. He has lived here all his life, with the family nearby. He is married to his cousin and together they have three small children.

“My wife is still studying”, says Muhammad Hussain.

He works as a teacher in the village, in the afternoons. The work gives a monthly income of 5,000 Afghanis. Hussain is cashier in his self-help group, in other words the one who is in charge of the metal box with the money.

Muhammad Hussain’s dreams do not differ from the others in the village. He hopes for a good job, a good income, a better house, and opportunities for the children to go to university.
