
Ghazni Regional Management Office
The Ghazni Regional Management Office of the Swedish Committee for Afghanistan has been active in the southeastern zone, in Ghazni province since 1993. Through this office, it currently implements Disability, Education and Rural Development Projects in Ghazni, Paktika, and Maidan Wardak provinces as well as there is also a support unit called Capacity Development and Method, and with having around 1,000 male and female staff, about 1150 villages in Ghazni, Paktika, and Maidan Wardak provinces have been taking benefit from the services of GRMO/SCA.
Disability
The Disability project operates in Ghazni, Paktika and Maidan Wardak provinces. The disability program is currently working in the center of Ghazni province, Qarabagh, Andar, Muqur and Jaghori districts and in Yusuf-khail, Sarwaza and Center Sharana districts of Paktika province, It also covers the districts of Sayed Abad, Band Chak, Daimirdad, Maidan Shar and Narkh in Maidan Wardak province.
The Disability Program provides services for the rehabilitation of people with disabilities through four main processes:
1: Physical Rehabilitation
2: Educational Rehabilitation
3: Economical Rehabilitation
4: Social Rehabilitation
1: In the physical rehabilitation process SCA provides important services for the physical rehabilitation of people with disabilities. This center has three sub-branches.
Physiotherapy: Provides physiotherapy services to male and female disabled and non-disabled clients as well as provides disability prevention trainings/workshops to the doctors and midwives.
Orthopedic Workshop: Provides mobility devices to disabled and non-disabled clients, such as artificial limbs and supportive devices for the weak muscles.
Component Workshop: Provide assistive devices to disabled and non-disabled patients such as wheelchairs, three wheels, walking frames, toilet seats and more.
To provide these services, SCA has activated a well-equipped rehabilitation center for people with disabilities in Ghazni province and a workshop for the provision of assistive devices.
2: In Educational Rehabilitation process; Children with all kinds of disabilities have been provided preparatory education through PERC’s, VPECs and HBEs, in rural areas and at home so that they can be enrolled in ordinary schools.
3. Economic Rehabilitation: People with various disabilities and above school age are attracted to various vocational and technical training programs. So that they can learn vocations and be able to earn their own income as well as they are also given revolving loans to become economically self-reliant.
4: Social Rehabilitation: Various trainings, public awareness sessions, printing, radio & television broadcasts, and advocacy efforts for the rights of people with disabilities are carried out through various means and institutions to bring change for the better in both society and the disabled and integrate people with disabilities into society and social affairs.
Education
The Ghazni Regional Management Office’s, Education Program operates in Paktika and Ghazni provinces with having 760 male/female field staff. This program is being implemented in Sharana, Yusuf-khail, Omna, Gomal and Sarwaza districts of Paktika province as well as provides education services in Qarabagh, Muqur, Ghazni Center and Jaghori districts of Ghazni province.
The Ghazni Regional Management Office, Education Program currently has around 678 CBEs Community Based Classes/Schools in which 630 classes/schools are CBEs, 4 classes are preparatory educations, 38 nomadic classes, and remaining 6 are coaching classes are included. These classes/schools provide education services to around 5267 boys and 12767 girls students in Ghazni and Paktika provinces.
Rural Development
The Rural Rehabilitation and Development Program is another program at the Ghazni Regional Office and operates in all those districts of Paktika and Ghazni provinces where the Education Program of the GRMO office provides services. Builds buildings, especially for schools, and has plan to start and implement WASH project during the current 2021 year.

Human Rights and Gender
CDMU (Capacity Development and Method Unit)؛ works with SCA’s partners, civil societies and other social entities in the areas of advocacy, human rights and gender issues, and to build their capacity and to enable working partners to support our activities and beneficiaries advocating and address to their demands. This unit was established at the beginning of 2016 year in the office of the Swedish Committee for Afghanistan. In addition, the Unit of Capacity Development and Methods attempts to implement human rights-based approaches (RBA) through public awareness meetings and gatherings in the community in addition to SCA’s office and relevant government departments. The CDMU is working in all those provinces where other programs of Ghazni Regional Management Office are working and act as a support unit.
