School for 800 students
Elders of Mirano Tappo, Behsud district have gathered to celebrate the construction of school building. They are happy and appreciating SCA for the construction of school building. As not so long ago, children of the area were used to sit in tents and study, but now they have a proper building for the school.
Upon completion of the construction work, SCA formally inaugurated Abdul Rahman Ibne Sumairata school in Behsud area of Jalalabad. The school building was completed in eight months and was funded by the SCA’s General Fundraising.
The single building of Abdul Rahman school was constructed with 7.7 million Afs, which includes six classrooms, one big store, two administration offices, five latrines and a potable water well along with boundary wall. 800 students, half of them girls, are studying in the school and are taught by 16 teachers including eight female teachers.
Malak Khair Mohammad, a local elder addressing the ceremony appreciated SCA for the construction of the school, said, “our children were used to sit under tents, but thanks to SCA, now we have a proper school building.” He requested installation of solar energy system in order to provide a cool environment for the children also requested construction of a second building.
Mohammadi Gul, a local elder says “We don’t have a school here. Our children used to work in fields, helping their parents. This will be the only school, we will be having. Thanks to SCA.”
It merits mentioning that Mr. Mirza Mohammad, a local elder had donated his land to construct a school.
Gul Abad village has a population of 2000 families, which compromised four national solidarity shuras’. Each shura has registered five hundred people.
